To All Parents:
"How
to develop your child's greatest human potential and awaken the genius in
her."
|
A
very WARM welcome to you! My name is Alvin
Poh.
I'm father
to my lovely daughter, Ethel
Poh who is born in December 2000.
My wife (Kah Hong) and I are firm believers that every child is a born genius.
Yes, including yours. We believe that our children are capable of achieving anything
they want in life, as long as we provide them with proper guidance,
education and learning skills during their early childhood years; we can help
our children succeed by enriching their intelligence from as young as
zero year old.

Education must
start at birth
- Alvin Poh |
Many researchers have
proven it beyond doubt: human-beings develop around 50 percent of her ability to learn in the first four years of life.
And she develops another 30 percent
of that ability before she turns eight. What this means is that in those first few years,
we form the main learning pathways in our brains; everything else we learn in life will be
built on that base. We also take in a fantastic amount of information in those early
years; and all later learning will grow from that core.
The Mission...
Together with Kah Hong, we set up this web site to share information,
tips and ideas, tools and resources so that you can help your child to achieve her greatest potential.
Many of the things you find here are from our personal experience and
tools that we use for our own child. We will also post and share
relevant resources from other generous parents.
This web site is designed by parents for parents.
And we'd like to
be your friends and always be here to help you.
Unsolicited Testimonials...
Here're what three of the parents said
to us recently:
"I've really enjoyed reading all your
articles; they have been very helpful. I'd like to say thank-you to both you and your wife for your ' warm ' sharing!"
- Sharon Naidu, a mother from Singapore
"Thank you very much for sharing with us your experiences with your daughter.
You guys have done a very good job! Cheers."
- Moonly Hoh, mother of a 35-month-old boy and a 19-month-old girl
"Dear
Alvin and Kah Hong, I just want to convey my appreciation for your
effort and willingness to share your website. It's really great. I'm
also deeply touched by the dedication that you have for your daughter.
Through your articles, I have renewed my zest and motivation to
continue to nurture and encourage my daughter more positively. Thank
you very much for your contribution."
- Wee Liduan Full time mother of a 30-month-old girl, Lynette
Another
comments from two of the parents:
"Hi Alvin and Kah Hong.
Thank you for sharing your experiences in helping Ethel enjoy playing on the piano.
I am truly inspired. I agree that our children can achieve their potential through our support and encouragement.
The various creative ideas that you use with Ethel are really wonderful and I would try them with my daughter, Kristin.
She's 1 year old. Kristin is perhaps too young to start learning music but certainly not too young to have some creative play and receive praise and encouragement.
Thank you and wishing you and your loved ones a wonderful and fun learning journey."
- Chan Mei Ling, a Montessori-trained teacher and mother
"Alvin, I'd like to compliment you and your wife for being so generous in sharing ideas and for setting up the web site. Hope that everyone would share and gain knowledge together. Also thanks for the wonderful advice. I'll check out your web page from time to time and at the same time do whatever I can to train my child. Please keep me update on your latest research and findings."
- Elaine Wong, a dedicated mother to a 35-month-old child (M'sia)
